Google Looker Pricing
in the GCC & Egypt

Google Looker does not publish list prices — all contracts are custom quotes via Google Cloud. This page publishes verified market cost estimates from 355 deal contracts, explains the critical difference between Looker and Looker Studio, and helps GCC and Egyptian organisations assess whether Looker is the right fit before committing to a procurement conversation.

If you are looking for Looker Studio, it is free to start at lookerstudio.google.com. If you need to connect Looker Studio to Oracle EPM, ERP, or enterprise data sources as part of a broader BI strategy, contact us. The rest of this page covers Looker (enterprise).

Google Looker costs an estimated USD 50,000–75,000/year for a Standard entry deployment and USD 100,000–200,000/year for a mid-market Enterprise deployment (50–100 users), based on verified data from 355 contracts. These figures cover the Looker licence only — BigQuery compute (USD 50K–200K+/year additional) and LookML engineering resource are separate costs that typically equal or exceed the licence fee in year one.

Google Looker — Editions & Market Cost Estimates

Google does not publish Looker list prices as of July 2026. All figures below are market estimates derived from third-party deal data (Vendr, 355 contracts), Gartner, Forrester, and G2/TrustRadius disclosures. They are presented as estimates, not Google's published rates — which is exactly the transparency that buyers researching Looker need. Always obtain a direct quote from Google Cloud sales or a certified partner. Contact Loop Wise Solutions for a structured Looker assessment.

GCC negotiation: Organisations with existing Google Cloud committed spend (GCP spend agreements) can typically negotiate 10–20% discounts. Multi-year Looker commitments attract additional discount. A Google Cloud partner can facilitate this negotiation.

Gemini/AI features: Looker's Conversational Analytics AI features are currently free within fair use until 30 September 2026, then priced at $3/million input tokens and $20/million output tokens. Budget for this separately from October 2026.

The Looker licence is only one layer of the total cost

This is the most important section on this page. Looker's full year-one cost is typically 2–4× the licence fee when all components are included. GCC organisations that compare Looker against Power BI or Tableau on licence cost alone are comparing the wrong numbers.

01
Looker Licence

The platform licence — Standard from ~$66,600/year; Enterprise from ~$100,000–200,000/year. This is the number Google quotes. It is typically the smallest component of year-one total cost for mid-market deployments.

02
BigQuery Compute

Every Looker query runs against BigQuery (or another warehouse). For active mid-market deployments, BigQuery charges of USD 50,000–200,000/year are common — billed completely separately from the Looker licence at $6.25/TiB processed beyond the 1 TiB/month free tier.

03
LookML Engineering

Gartner estimates that 40–60% of total Looker investment goes to LookML engineering. A typical mid-market deployment requires 0.5–2 dedicated FTEs with SQL and LookML skills. In the GCC: USD 80,000–180,000/year (Gulf-based); in Egypt: USD 40,000–120,000/year. This cost does not appear in the Google quote.

04
Implementation Services

A standard Looker Enterprise deployment with LookML semantic layer build costs USD 60,000–130,000 in professional services. A migration from an existing BI platform adds USD 40,000–90,000. These are one-time costs in year one.

05
Google Cloud Support

Google Cloud Pro support starts at $29/month. Enterprise support plans add 3–9% of monthly GCP spend. For organisations with significant BigQuery and GCP usage, this is a meaningful additional line item.

06
Annual Escalator

Google Cloud contracts typically include a ~5% annual price uplift. Over a 3-year commitment, this adds approximately 10% to the total licence cost versus year-one price. Factor this into any multi-year business case.

Estimate your Looker investment — and check fit

Because Google does not publish Looker pricing, this is a budget range estimator based on market deal data — not a precise calculator. It also includes a fit check: Looker has a hard cost floor that makes it unsuitable for smaller organisations, and we will tell you so.

Frequently asked questions

Answers before you ask.

Google Looker does not publish list prices — all contracts require a custom quote via Google Cloud sales. Based on verified deal data from 355 contracts (Vendr, July 2026), Looker costs an estimated USD 50,000–75,000/year for a Standard edition entry deployment, USD 100,000–200,000/year for a mid-market Enterprise deployment (50–100 users), and USD 200,000–500,000+/year for large enterprises. These figures cover the Looker platform licence only — BigQuery compute costs (USD 50,000–200,000/year additional) and LookML engineering resource are separate and material. GCC enterprise customers with existing Google Cloud committed spend can typically negotiate 10–20% discounts.
Looker and Looker Studio are two completely different Google products that share part of a name. Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio) is a free, lightweight dashboard tool — no semantic modelling, no LookML, free for basic use and USD 9/user/month for Pro. Most small teams and marketing functions who search for "Looker pricing" actually need Looker Studio, which requires no implementation partner for standard use. Looker (Google Cloud core) is a full enterprise BI platform with a LookML semantic layer, quote-only pricing starting at approximately USD 60,000–66,600+/year, and a requirement for dedicated SQL/LookML engineering resource. Looker is appropriate for organisations with 50+ users, data in BigQuery or a modern cloud data warehouse, and a committed data engineering team.
Looker queries are executed against a connected data warehouse — BigQuery is the most common and tightest integration. While Looker can connect to other warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, etc.), its economics are most favourable when the organisation is already on Google Cloud Platform. For active Looker deployments with regular querying across large datasets, BigQuery compute charges of USD 50,000–200,000/year are common and are billed entirely separately from the Looker licence. BigQuery charges USD 6.25 per TiB of data processed after the 1 TiB free monthly allowance. Organisations not currently on GCP must add infrastructure migration cost to any Looker TCO calculation.
Looker is a cloud-native platform — Google does not offer a traditional on-premise deployment option. For Saudi organisations with PDPL data residency requirements, the relevant question is which Google Cloud Infrastructure region hosts the Looker instance. Google Cloud has a data centre in Dammam/Riyadh (Saudi Arabia region), which provides in-Kingdom data residency. However, organisations with strict data sovereignty requirements should assess the full data flow — including BigQuery query processing — with their legal and compliance team before committing to Looker. Loop Wise Solutions can assist with this assessment as part of a platform fit evaluation.
For a 100-person GCC analytics team, the platform decision turns on three factors: existing technology stack, data governance requirements, and internal engineering capacity. Power BI at USD 10–20/user/month (USD 12,000–24,000/year for 100 users) is the lowest-cost entry point and fits Microsoft-centric environments. Tableau at USD 15–75/user/month depending on role mix costs USD 36,000–120,000/year before negotiation, and delivers strong visualisation capability. Looker at an estimated USD 100,000–200,000/year for 100 users — plus BigQuery and LookML engineering — is justified only where a governed semantic layer shared across teams is the primary requirement and the organisation is already invested in GCP. For most 100-person GCC teams not on GCP, Power BI or Qlik Cloud deliver better total value. We will tell you which one honestly.
